Location of placement

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (GHNHSFT) is one of the largest hospital trusts in the country and provides high quality acute elective and specialist care for a population of more than 612,000 people.  With 960 beds, over 125,000 emergency attendances and nearly 800,000 outpatient appointments each year, we provide high quality acute elective and specialist services under our vision of ‘Best Care For Everyone’.  GHNHSFT offers two training sites located at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital (GRH) and Cheltenham General Hospital (CGH).  Our hospitals are district general hospitals with a great tradition of providing high quality hospital services; some specialist departments are concentrated at either Cheltenham General (oncology and vascular surgery) or Gloucestershire Royal hospitals (renal and stroke medicine and paediatrics).    See GHNSHFT website:

Details of Training Programme

Whilst on placement at GHNHSFT you’ll spend time in departments such as: dispensary, medicines information and aseptic services.  You’ll spend time with a range of technicians and pharmacists to see different wards and specialities within the hospital.  Whilst on placement with us you may be able to complete an audit.
