Placements are usually carried out over 5 weeks during the months of June and July. Further information regarding start dates is given to succsessful applicants.
Location of placement
The Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust is an 800-bed teaching hospital with a Pharmacy Department of around 145 staff. The Pharmacy Department has a partnership with Boots who provide outpatient pharmacy services within the Trust. We also have a recently opened, brand new Technical Services Unit.
Details of Training Programme
During the placement you will have opportunities to explore different areas of our department including the dispensary, distribution, aseptic services as well as experiencing accompanied ward visits with clinical pharmacists and medicines management technicians.
Placements open to students who will have completed their third year of the Mpharm course by summer 2019.
Hospital accommodation may be available on request. Details of accommodation will be given to successful applicants.

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept work placements in the summer of 2020.
This is due to the implementation of a transformation Programme, across the acute and community settings which will include the introduction of an electronic patient record.
We hope to resume these placements in the summer of 2021
