Summer Vacation Placements
Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust is a forward thinking integrated organisation providing acute healthcare services from Torbay Hospital, as well as community health services and adult social care.
The In-patient Pharmacy Department at Torbay Hospital employs around 90 staff who provide services to approximately 750 beds across Torbay and South Devon.
The Out-patient Pharmacy services are provided by SDH Developments Ltd a wholly owned subsidiary of the Trust.
Placement details
We are offering flexible 2 to 5 day placements to 3rd year undergraduates who are interested in obtaining hospital practice experience throughout June, July and August. Our intention is to provide a quality based overview of the services provided by the whole pharmacy team including ward visits accompanied by either a clinical Pharmacist and/or a Medicines Optimisation Technician, dispensary, distribution, aseptic services, and medicines information. Applicants will also be able to meet with our current pre-registration pharmacists to discuss how we support and provide them with learning opportunities during their pre-registration year.
Location of placement
Torbay Hospital – within the In-patient pharmacy department including aseptic services and patient facing ward visits.

Applicants are responsible for arranging and paying for their own accommodation.
